Endo confirmed for a Juryo return in the spring tournament
The spring sumo tournament is finally upon us, with the action set to begin on Sunday March 13th. The good news is that Endo, who dropped out midway through the last tournament with injury, today declared that he WILL be appearing! Yey!
Watching Endo is one of the delights of a sumo tournament, and is always disappointing when he fails to appear. This time round, he will be ranked at Juryo East 6, and thus find himself reduced to second-division status for the first time in two and half years.
We hope that his injured left elbow and right knee have recovered! We know that his weight is up by about 5 or 6 kilos, meaning that his upper body seems to have gone up a size! All we can hope for right now is that he can get a winning score and return to the top division as soon as possible.
Picture: Endo waits to join the top division ring-entering ceremony (Sep 2015). He seemed to go through pre-basho training without a need for knee or elbow-supporters.
