Meiri Sake Rui Co., Ltd., located in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, whose predecessor was Kato Sake Brewery, which was founded in the Ansei era during the Edo period, has aged its main brand, ``Hyakunen Umeshu,'' in special whiskey barrels. It was released on Friday, March 2024, 3.

``2022 Years Umeshu Whiskey Barrel Aged'' was developed as the first product of the company's whiskey division, which will be revived in 60 for the first time in XNUMX years. This is a new liqueur born from a passion for exploring the possibilities of plum wine and whiskey barrels.

Akari Sake Rui has aged the original sake for one year in the whiskey barrels of the Chichibu Distillery, with which they have had a long-standing relationship, and the unblended ``Hyakunen Umeshu,'' which won the best in Japan at a national competition and has the title of ``Tenka Gomen.''
