@daifuku_channel is a pet-centric Instagram account with a difference: travel pictures! Three-year-old Daifuku, the hero of the account, is one of the biggest rising stars of the shiba-inu world, with more than 240,000 followers.

Most of the account’s photos depict Daifuku’s everyday life in Kanagawa—which is cute enough—but every so often he goes roaming. Walks and longer trips with his owner, Ms. Goto, almost become advertisements for Japanese tourism. There are even English and Chinese translations. Here are a few of our favorite shots.

Daifuku also did some swimming in August!

“He hasn’t always liked exercise. But because he’s small and his legs are weak, he had to get some. I taught him how to swim to help him get stronger, and before I knew it he was a great swimmer!” says Ms. Goto.

Here’s Daifuku visiting Takahata Fudo Temple in Hachioji, Tokyo, to see the autumn leaves in November.
