Artist Rima Fujita's solo exhibition "Shasta - Beings Watching Over You" will be held at the Isetan Shinjuku Main Store Art Gallery from November 11th (Wed) to 13th (Tue).

The title "Shasta" means "protector" in Sanskrit, and Mount Shasta in California, which bears the same name, is known as one of the most powerful gates on Earth, and is visited by many people from all over the world.

This exhibition, which has "Shasta" as its theme, features works that make us aware of the presence of the guardian within us.

"The Light Carrier" is a painting that was inspired by a vision he had in a dream on a full moon night when he was sad that he couldn't see the full moon's light due to the weather. Fujita says, "This painting conveyed the message that even if we can't see the moon's light with our eyes, it still exists, and the brilliance of that light exists in our hearts at the same time."

Regarding this solo exhibition, Fujita commented, "It's easy to forget this when we spend our hectic days in a concrete building, but even if we're not in the forest, if we close our eyes, take a deep breath, and rest our minds, we can remember that these guardians are always, always with us in our hearts. It's an important thing to remember over and over: 'Everything exists within you.' I hope that you will suddenly feel this way when looking at this series."
