A special exhibition titled "The Story of Master Heinz Werner - Contemporary Meissen Porcelain Art" will be held at the Izumiya Hakukokan Museum Tokyo from Saturday, August 2025, 8, exploring the creative world of Heinz Werner, one of Meissen's most representative contemporary artists.

Meissen, the famous German pottery manufacturer, was the first in Europe to successfully fire hard porcelain. It was Heinz Werner who breathed modern life into this historic pottery.

The exhibition will feature Werner's masterpieces, from his early period to his later years, including tea and coffee services and ceramic plaques. His works, which condense color, imagination, and thought into the limited space of porcelain, convey the influence of Eastern ceramic culture, his deep knowledge of mythology and literature, and the poetic compositional power of color and line.
