Louis Vuitton "Visionary Journey" Exhibition

The "Visionary Journey" exhibition, commemorating the 2025th anniversary of Louis Vuitton's founding and the Osaka-Kansai Expo, is being held at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka until Wednesday, September 9, 17.

Origins Origins

Origins

This immersive exhibition is based on the theme of "travel" and allows visitors to experience the Maison's origins, latest creations, and deep cultural exchange with Japan through 12 themes.

Upon entering the venue, visitors are drawn into the world of Louis Vuitton by a fantastical spatial presentation, including eight gigantic trunk towers towering over an open atrium and a hemispherical installation made up of 8 trunks. The exhibition was curated by fashion historian Florence Muller, and the spatial design was handled by Shohei Shigematsu. A magnificent "stage for a journey" unfolds, fusing art, architecture, and craftsmanship.

The highlight is the "Louis Vuitton and Japan" section, which carefully showcases the brand's deep ties with Japanese culture, from its early items inspired by Japonism to its contemporary collaborations with Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, Rei Kawakubo, and NIGO®.

There are also plenty of sections where you can experience the Maison's craftsmanship, such as "Materials," "Atelier," and "Durability Testing." Also on display is a "Toolbox Trunk" by artist and Maison ambassador Sho Hirano.

The attached gift shop will also carry items carefully selected by the Maison, such as booklets and notebooks exclusive to the exhibition. The book "Louis Vuitton and Japan: A Visionary Journey," co-published with Rizzoli, will also be available for pre-sale at the gift shop, as well as Rizzoli and Louis Vuitton stores.
