The exhibition "Emile Gallé: Longing for Paris," commemorating 120 years since the death of Emile Gallé, who achieved brilliant success by developing a unique worldview in glass, ceramics, and furniture, is being held at the Suntory Museum of Art until Sunday, April 4th.

Emile Gallé was a pioneer who elevated glass art to the level of art, and had a major influence on the art world that followed with his innovative techniques and philosophical themes embedded in his works. This exhibition focuses on his relationship with Paris, where Gallé established his reputation, and looks back on the development of his creativity.

The exhibition will cover works that could be considered the origins of the young Gallé, including his early days when he was welcomed into Paris, masterpieces from the time of the Paris World's Fair, when he developed his unique worldview and achieved brilliant fame, and even works from his final years, which could be considered the culmination of Gallé's work, showing his feelings as he was suffering from leukemia and presumably preparing for death, and how he devoted his life to his unique art.
