This is the first Bvlgari exhibition in Japan in 10 years, and the largest to date, bringing together approximately 350 pieces of jewelry. Bvlgari is known as the "magician of colored stones," freely combining primary colors such as sapphire, ruby, and emerald with semi-precious stones such as amethyst and turquoise, and accentuating their brilliance with cabochon cuts. This exhibition will shed light on Bvlgari's unique ability to create bold and original color harmonies through jewelry and contemporary art.

Necklace in platinum, emeralds and diamonds, 1961, Bvlgari Heritage Collection
This exhibition explores Bvlgari's revolution in color through three chapters. It features a wide range of pieces, from historical masterpieces to rare archives, centered around the Bvlgari Heritage Collection, including the Bracelet (circa 3s), which features citrine and diamonds and radiates a warm glow reminiscent of a Roman sunset, the legendary Necklace known as the "Seven Wonders" (1940), featuring seven emeralds, and the Convertible Sautoir-Bracelet (circa 1961s), a masterpiece of multicolor that can be transformed into either a necklace or a bracelet.

In addition to the jewelry, the exhibition will also feature new works by three contemporary female artists. Each piece resonates with Bvlgari jewelry, allowing visitors to experience the multifaceted power of color. These include Lara Favaretto's installation using rotating, colorful car wash brushes, Mariko Mori's meditative space inspired by the Kojiki, and Akiko Nakayama's installation projecting the interplay of water, sound, and mineral pigments to form fluid forms.
The venue design was a collaboration between the Japanese architectural unit SANAA and the Italian design unit Formafantasma. The space, inspired by the mosaic patterns of ancient Roman baths and the shape of Tokyo's ginkgo leaves, will take visitors on a sensory journey through a world of color.
From jewelry to contemporary art, the exhibition offers a kaleidoscope of experiences, showcasing Bvlgari's artistry, craftsmanship and intricacy through a series of magnificent exhibits.
