The Wako Seiko House Hall in Ginza will be holding an exhibition by indigo dyeing artist Shioco Fukumoto entitled "Shioco Fukumoto - Sea of Indigo" from Thursday, November 27th to Sunday, December 7th, 2025. This will be the first exhibition at Wako for Fukumoto, who has been highly acclaimed both in Japan and overseas for her exploration of the profound world of indigo.

"The most beautiful indigo in the world is Japanese indigo. Its distinctive feature is its rich gradation of blue," says Fukumoto. This exhibition features works that embody the diverse expressions of indigo, including "Indigo Sea," an installation made from 250 meters of dyed cotton fishing net, as well as "Intersecting Blue -1," "Galaxy," and "Tsushima -Ⅻ." The beautiful shades of Japan blue, reminiscent of the shoreline, quietly envelop the entire space.

Fukumoto himself is scheduled to be present on some days during the exhibition. In addition, a gallery talk with art critic Koichi Mori will be held from 2pm on Saturday, November 29th. This will be a valuable opportunity to experience the beauty and philosophy of "Japan Blue" through the artist's words.
