The Seiko Power Design Project, which proposes new possibilities for wristwatches, will release its first collection on Friday, December 5th. The watches will be available in three colors: silver, black, and gold, with each limited to 500 pieces worldwide. The suggested retail price is between 50,600 yen and 56,100 yen (tax included).
The Power Design Project, which was launched in 2001, was revived in 2022 after a hiatus. Based on the theme of "REBIRTH," watch designers selected seven distinctive watches from Seiko's long history and proposed reimagined watches based on their own perspectives. One of these watches will now be released as part of a new Seiko brand collection.
The first collection is a rebirth of the original model released for women in 1984, as a new wristwatch that goes beyond its original boundaries. It inherits the small size that made it popular as a "bracelet watch" and the relaxed fit that makes it enjoyable to wear like an accessory, while also being designed to suit modern sensibilities.
Different sized links are used at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions, and a combination of hairline and mirror finishes, unique to watches and rarely seen in other accessories, creates a design in which flat surfaces stand out within a soft form. Only the third link from 6 o'clock has a sparkling multi-faceted design, adding to the playfulness.
Why not try adding a stylish touch to your hands with a piece that you can enjoy like an accessory?
