The exhibition "2nd Ishikawa Crafts: Lacquer and Ceramics" will be held from Thursday, January 29th to Sunday, February 8th, 2026 at Seiko House Hall in Wako, a Ginza landmark.

Ishikawa Prefecture is home to a rich tradition of lacquerware and ceramics, exemplified by Wajima lacquerware and Kutani ware. This is the second exhibition to feature lacquerware and ceramic artists who continue to create works in the prefecture.

This time, new artists active in each field will be invited to join in, bringing together a wider variety of expressions. The content will allow visitors to experience the current state of Ishikawa crafts, which combines the techniques and aesthetic sense that have been passed down since the days of the Kaga Hyakumangoku domain with modern sensibilities.

During the exhibition, gallery talks by the exhibiting artists are also scheduled. On Saturday, January 31st, ceramic artist Yukika Shibata and lacquer artist Saki Mizuguchi will take the stage, and on Saturday, February 7th, ceramic artist Yukifumi Tada and lacquer artist Soichiro Nakamuro will take the stage to talk about the background of their work and the thoughts they put into their crafts.
