Grand Seiko has announced two new quartz models featuring a "snow white pattern" on the dial, boasting the most compact case diameter in the history of its "Caliber 9F" movement at 33.0mm. They will be released on Friday, April 24th.
The "Snow White Pattern" dial design, which debuted in 2005, has garnered worldwide acclaim to this day. It is inspired by the beautiful "wind and snow patterns" seen in winter on the Hotaka mountain range, as viewed from the "Shinshu Time Craftsman Workshop" at Seiko Epson's Shiojiri Plant. These exquisite wind and snow patterns are delicately reproduced through a special silver plating process and the skill of master craftsmen, without the use of white paint.
This time, in addition to the long-loved "Snow White" dial, the lineup also includes a "Snow White Blue" dial that captures the scenery of the sky's color reflecting on the snow surface blown by the cold winter wind. Both feature a gleaming, vibrant blue steel second hand.
The new movement, the Caliber 9F51, retains the high performance of the Caliber 9F61 while reducing its major diameter by 0.6mm, resulting in a thickness of 2.2mm. By changing the structure while maintaining the same magnetic resistance, the case has been made the thinnest in Caliber 9F history at 9.1mm, and the most compact model with an outer diameter of 33.0mm.
Why not adorn your wrist with the smallest snow-white model ever?
