The exhibition "Picasso meets Paul Smith: A Playful Adventure" is currently being held at the National Art Center, Tokyo in Roppongi.
This exhibition allows visitors to enjoy the works of Pablo Picasso, one of the most representative artists of the 20th century, along with a venue design by Paul Smith, a leading British designer. Featuring works from the collection of the Musée de la Picasso in Paris, which boasts one of the world's leading Picasso collections, this exhibition offers an unprecedented viewing experience.
The exhibition features approximately 80 works, including paintings, sculptures, and ceramics, such as "Portrait of a Man" and "Paul as Harlequin," which are representative works from his Blue Period. These works are displayed in a loose chronological order.
What makes this exhibition special is the venue design by Paul Smith. Having also handled the art direction for the large-scale Picasso exhibition held in 2023, he has developed a completely different concept for each section.
