Seiko's top-of-the-line brand, Decor Seiko, will release the "Springen Clock 'Sho'," a desk clock combining a skeleton movement with a cast metalwork piece by Ryohei Miyata, one of Japan's leading metalwork artists, on October 9th (Friday) in a limited edition of 10 units. The price is 3,300,000 yen (including tax).
Mr. Miyata served as the 22nd Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs from 2016 to 2021, and is currently active as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Nitten) and a member of the Japan Art Academy. "Springen," which means "flight" in German, is one of Mr. Miyata's representative series, featuring dynamic dolphins as its motif.
