Hotel Granvia Kyoto will host "Manabunka in Kyoto Station Building," a workshop event where you can experience traditional Kyoto crafts, on August 11th, 2026 (Tuesday, national holiday). This one-day event offers easy access to a venue directly connected to Kyoto Station, allowing you to enjoy Japanese handcrafts in a relaxed atmosphere.
Kyoto-style fan painting experience using washi paper (Shiomi Uchiwa Co., Ltd.): 2,500 yen / 20-40 minutes
Hand-painted Yuzen "Coloring" Experience (Dyeing Studio Masashige): 3,500 yen / 30-60 minutes
The venue will feature 20 experience booths, including "Washi paper collage painting experience for fans" and "Kyoto Yuzen gold leaf dyeing experience." There will be a variety of activities, from those that even beginners can easily participate in to programs that allow you to thoroughly enjoy the process of making things.

This 10th edition of the event will feature four new exhibitors. New programs have also been added, such as "Painting Kyoto Clay Bells" featuring animals inspired by Kyoto dialect, and "Making Kyoto Prayer Bead Bracelets" under the guidance of a prayer bead craftsman, making it possible to experience Kyoto's unique traditional culture more closely.
Furthermore, the venue will feature corners where visitors can enjoy nostalgic kamishibai (picture-story shows), kendama (cup-and-ball game), otedama (beanbag juggling), and spinning tops. It will be a place where people of all ages can enjoy and appreciate Japanese culture.
