The Hara Museum ARC in Shibukawa City, Gunma Prefecture, will be holding a special nighttime event for three days only, from September 25th (Fri) to 27th (Sun), as a related event to its ongoing exhibition, "Fly to the Moon: Five Stories About the Moon." The exhibition will run for 30 minutes longer than usual, and after the doors to the exhibition rooms close, visitors can enjoy the illumination of the architecture and outdoor artworks.

The main event is "Moon Viewing Party - Waiting for the Moon at the Museum at Night," which begins at 5 PM on Saturday, September 26th. With the museum, designed by architect Arata Isozaki and featuring a distinctive pyramid-shaped roof, as a backdrop, it will be a special evening spent waiting for the moon to rise from Mount Akagi in the east.

On the day of the event, the building and outdoor artworks will be illuminated as dusk falls. Café d'Art inside the building will offer live DJ music and light refreshments, and paid guided tours of the building and outdoor artworks will also be available.

Furthermore, during the period coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the museum grounds will be specially opened to the public from 17 PM to 20 PM. The museum shop and cafe will also extend their operating hours until 20 PM, making it possible to stop by after work or during a trip and spend some time at the museum at night as you please.

How about enjoying a poetic moment unique to an autumn night: viewing an exhibition themed around the moon and then gazing up at the real moon outdoors?
