This is a time when trees and flowers are growing rapidly. The twenty-four seasonal seasons have become Koman. The mulberry fields are filled with lush green leaves, and it's time to put effort into harvesting. Silkworms eat the leaves. The amount of mulberry leaves they eat increases as they grow, so the sericulture farmers who take care of them are very busy.
Sericulture was once popular throughout Japan, but it is known that by 2022 (Reiwa 4) there will be fewer than 20 sericulture farmers nationwide. The structure itself changed significantly as kimonos were no longer worn and silk was available at reasonable prices from overseas. The village life that coexisted with silkworms is becoming more distant.
