Learn about Japan's traditional colors

2023.5.29

Can you read? Japan's traditional color ``Moriwa-iro'' Irises bloom in the soil, and Moriwa blooms on the water's edge.

Purple flowers spill out from the straight stems. Morifolia is a perennial plant belonging to the Iridaceae family, and is a plant that lives near water such as swamps and ponds. It is difficult to tell the difference between irises and Morifolia, but please remember that Moriflora is the one that blooms near water. The contrast between the reddish-purple flowers and the dark green leaves is refreshing and beautiful, and the best time to see them is from May to June.
