2023.8.16

Can you read? Japan's traditional color ``Noshime color'' was the color of samurai's formal clothes during the Edo period.

Noshime is a plain weave woven using raw silk for the warp and semi-kneaded yarn for the weft. It refers to the kosode worn under the samurai's formal hemp kimono (men's formal wear in Japanese clothing), and is known as one of the many indigo colors. A dull blue with a hint of gray can be said to be one of the traditional colors that is quiet but full of presence.

The color of indigo dyeing that is darker than this turning color is called Noshime Hanairo.

Noshime color = Noshimeiro

There are various derived colors of Noshime color, such as ``Noshime Asagi'', ``Noshime Sorairo'', and ``Noshime Hanairo''. ``Noshimeiro'' is read as Noshimeiro.
