The color is a pigment extracted from natural red clay, and the first impression you get when you look at it is a slightly bright dull reddish brown. The yellowish reddish brown color is the yellow color. According to the Kojiki, red clay pigments are called ``sohoni,'' and it is said that the red clay excavated from Daixian, Shanxi Province, China, was of high quality. From this background, when combined with the name of the place of production, it was recognized as Daishu Daisho, and came to be called "Daishu Daisho."
Taishiro = Taishaiiro
The main component of the pigment that creates the yellow color is natural ferric oxide. When red clay is fired, it becomes a strong red color, and when it ripens, it becomes purple clay. ``Yoshiiro'' is read as Taishairo.
