Shikancha is a slightly dull reddish brown color. This is the actor color favored by Utaemon Nakamura III, a Kabuki actor who was popular in the three capitals of Kyoto (Kyoto), Osaka (Osaka), and Edo (Tokyo) during the Bunka and Bunsei periods. The origin of this color name is that Utaemon Nakamura's haiku name was Shibakan. It hasn't changed since then that things and things become popular because of the popularity of an actor.
