What is Japan's traditional color "Ai Nezumi"?
Indigo is a grayish color with an indigo tinge. It is a dark blue with a hint of gray. Mouse, indigo, and brown were popular colors that represented the Edo period, and among them, it is said that there were so many tones based on the color that they were hailed as ``48 brown and 100 mouse colors.'' In addition to the color names with the word "mouse" in them, such as Su-nezu and Cha-nezu, many others were created based on people or place names, such as Rikyu-nezu, Komachi-nezu, Fukagawa-nezu, and Kamogawa-nezu.
Ainezu = Ainezu
The dyeing manual ``Tekkan Mobushiyo'' also states, ``Today's Ainezumi, this is also a Nibuiro Narubashi''. ``Ai Nezumi'' is pronounced ``Ainezu''.
