What is the traditional Japanese color "white tea"?

White-brown is a light, pale brown with a hint of yellow. In modern times, it is a color closer to beige. It is said to have gained popularity in the middle of the Genroku era (1688-1704) of the Edo period, when darker browns were more in fashion. Around the Bunka and Bunsei eras (1804-30), light browns became fashionable again as a stylish color, and white-brown was also widely used. It is a traditional color that is used in idiomatic expressions such as "white-brown."
