"Ama Tachibana" is a rare surname found in small numbers in the former Misato village of Oe County, Yoshinogawa City, Tokushima Prefecture. It is believed that the name Ama Tachibana came from the meaning of the Tachibana clan of Oe County, Awa Province.
The name of Aso County disappeared due to the merger of municipalities in the Heisei era, but it is a very old place name that was recorded on a wooden tablet around the end of the 7th century. Before the Edo period, it was written as "Aso".
According to a book that compiles old myths passed down by the Imbe clan, the Awa Imbe group, who served the Imbe clan, planted paper mulberry and hemp in this area and made thread and textiles, and thus the place got its name.
