What is the traditional Japanese color "Shironeri"?

Shiraneri is the pure, unadulterated, beautiful color of lustrous silk. Raw silk is yellowish white in its natural state. Shiraneri is the name of a refining method that removes the yellow color from raw silk. The pure white of the whitened silk has been regarded as special and has been considered a color symbolizing holiness. It represents purity and innocence, and in ancient times it was used as the color of the robe, the upper garment worn by the emperor.
