What is the traditional Japanese color "Soden Karacha"?
Soden Tocha is a reddish brown color that is slightly darker than Tocha. Tocha is the color of tea that was introduced from the country of Tang, that is, China at that time. It is said that "Souden" originated from the fact that Tsuruya Soden, a dyer in Kyoto, created this color. The color of browns increased in variation due to restrictions on kimono colors in the Edo period due to policies that banned luxury, and so many different shades of brown were created that they were called "48 teas."
