What is the traditional Japanese color "duck feather color"?
The duck's plumage is a greenish blue that comes from the feathers from the head to the neck of a male mallard. Mallards are birds of the Anatidae family and are said to grow to about 60 centimeters in length. The male's reproductive plumage has a shiny green head and neck, a white collar, a brownish back, and blue-purple wing speculum. Of these, the vivid blue-green part is called "duck plumage." The expression "the plumage of a waterfowl duck" appears in a poem by Otomo no Yakamochi in the Manyoshu.
Duck feather color = Kamonoiro
Ducks are known as migratory birds, with some species traveling thousands of kilometers each season. The Northern Pintail in particular travels long distances between Japan and Siberia. "Duck feather color" is pronounced "kamonoiro."
