The family name "Mimawaribe" originates from Mimawaribe Village, Ashigarakami District, Sagami Province (present-day Hadano City, Kanagawa Prefecture), and is currently concentrated in Ebina City and Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.



Although there is little clear documentation regarding the origin of the name, it is possible to speculate that the place name "Mikabe" may have a topographical significance, as it is a fusion of valleys and villages that surround it in three directions.



In addition, there is a clan called the Shakyamuni Buddha clan in northwestern Kyoto Prefecture and eastern Hyogo Prefecture/Tamba region, and it is sometimes pointed out that they are related to the Mimawaribe family name.
