The traditional Japanese color "blue-green"
Sei-goro refers to a bluish green color that is difficult to categorize as either blue or green. This color name is recorded in the Nuidono-ryo section of the Engishiki, and is described as a greenish color similar to indigo, dyed with a small amount of kihada. During the Heian period, modern green colors were also referred to as "blue," so the name "sei-gororo" reflects the color sense unique to that era.
Blue-green = Aomidori
It is characterized by its soft, deep color, which is produced using natural dyes such as indigo and yellow ivy, and has been popular in clothing and dyed textiles since ancient times.
