The "Yonyanagi" in Toyoyoyanagi comes from a place name that once existed in Hakui County. The name is said to have originated from the fact that four plots and settlements were formed on land where willow trees grew in large numbers, and it still conveys the image of an era when the natural environment and people's lives were closely linked.
