In just four years since his debut, he has written over 30 picture books. Shinsaku Nagata is known as an up-and-coming picture book author. He came to Tokyo without any purpose, but when he was first shown around Ginza, he encountered surprisingly delicious bread.
Introduced by my friend's sister
My first visit to Ginza
Mr. Nagata began by saying, ``It happened when I was 18, so my memory is vague,'' and then began talking about his encounter with Ginza. After graduating from a high school in Hiroshima and Kure, and after moving to Tokyo, he worked part-time at an after-school facility for children with disabilities. He says he visited Ginza under the guidance of his friend's sister, with whom he had hit it off at his part-time job.
Mr. Nagata is sorting through the rows of anpan.
"You guys don't know Tokyo, do you? I'll show you around." The person who invited me was actress Hikari Mitsushima. Nagata's friend was her younger brother, Shinnosuke Mitsushima, who is currently active as an actor. "That was my first time in Ginza. Hikari-san showed me around Ginza Kimuraya and said, ``Are you hungry? They have delicious bread.''
After purchasing the Anbuta you are looking for, Nagata's style is to go look at smoking supplies and look for books.
Sometimes immediately after buying
I'll eat the butter
That's when I came across "An Butter." Mr. Nagata, who laughs and describes himself as ``an unparalleled lover of red bean paste and loves red bean paste,'' was surprised by the size. Coupled with the soft texture of the butter, he says his first impression was that it was surprisingly delicious.
An butter. It's made with Tokachi-produced grained bean paste and Hokkaido-produced whipped butter wrapped in soft French bread. This is a masterpiece that takes seven hours to make. 250 yen (tax included).
Although he has tried the butter bread at many shops, Ginza Kimuraya has a soft (touch) and perfect harmony, and he has yet to find anything that beats the taste. "When I come to Ginza, I always buy something and eat it while walking around the area. I like how easy it is to do so."
``Premium products are being released before you know it, and if you don't go to the store often, they will be left behind (lol),'' said Mr. Nagata, who focused on Anbuta for adults. It is characterized by its aromatic flavor, made with whipped butter from Hokkaido and garum rum. 280 yen (tax included)
Loved by the great writers of the Showa era
Thinking about the situation in Ginza
When I asked him about the city of Ginza, his perspective was truly unique. Due to his father's influence, he has long admired the scenery of the era when the great writers of the Showa era, whom he admired, were drinking around in Ginza. The names of literary greats such as Ken Kaiko, Shotaro Yasuoka, Junnosuke Yoshiyuki, Osamu Dazai, Kobo Abe, and Masuji Ibuse come out of his mouth one after another.
This is my first time coming to the cafe on the second floor. You can overlook Ginza Street.
``My admiration for Ginza is influenced by the artists of that generation.I imagine that yesterday's alcohol will be on the paintbrush, just as I used to drink until morning and put yesterday's alcohol on the brush, but it is impossible for me. there is". However, with Ken Kaiko's love of pipes in mind, he visited Ginza Kikusui, a specialty store for smoking supplies, and encountered foreign literature at Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore (located in GINZA SIX), creating his own Ginza. There are also ways to enjoy it.
The coffee at the cafe on the second floor is said to be delicious. The photo shows the Anpan set for 1050 yen (drink included/tax included).
Currently, he is busy preparing his new books, ``Honto no Hoshi'' and ``Soragoto no Tsuki,'' which are scheduled to be released next spring. The content seemed to include various elements such as literature, philosophy, and art. Anyway, it's a feeling that I can't really explain. I have no doubt that Mr. Nagata will continue to admire the great literary figures of the Showa era and continue to find his own way to enjoy Ginza.
