The other day, I went to Edo Nihonbashi.
As you walk down the hallway that leads into the store, which is decorated to match your kimono appearance, you will immediately see a Noh stage on your right.
Lounge seats feature sofas designed by Nabeshima Dantori and Missoni, who were protected as official items of the Saga Domain and loved by successive feudal lords, as well as dishes and drinks from the Edo, Meiji, and Taisho periods. The atmosphere is a unique fusion of Japanese and Western styles, including the use of sake vessels.
When you hear that there is a Noh stage, you think of a large venue, but the stage is small and has a very casual atmosphere. At Suigian, a theater-style restaurant, a 7-8 minute digest version of the dance performance by Geinagon Hyakukawa was performed multiple times. ``Geinagon'' is composed of female Japanese dancers, nagauta, koto music, and shakuhachi performers, but because the programs are short, you can enjoy the atmosphere of traditional Japanese performing arts such as Japanese dance and Noh. There were many foreign guests on the day. I thought it would be perfect for inbound hospitality.
It's so hot this year that I don't even need a kimono! Many people may think so, but wearing a yukata can also improve your mood.
On the day, about 20 women in yukatas and summer kimonos gathered together and it was very colorful. There were a few seniors there too, which was really nice. After all, Japanese people look best in kimonos! I realized this again. I would like to thank everyone at Wa no Ki for inviting me, and I once again want to hold more kimono events at Premium Japan in the future. Events are held regularly at "Wa no Ki."
