Akasaka Chongiwa New Building is the best Korean restaurant in Tokyo!

Korean food to eat in TokyoHere's the best one!!

The Korean cuisine table is truly rich. Meat and seafood, fermented foods, stir-fried foods, stews, pickles, various raw vegetables, pancakes, soups, various variations of rice, and hot pot dishes.……Approximately the side dishes that appear on the table of Korean cuisine are1500It is said that there are seeds. Even if you live in Korea, it is difficult to eat all the types. Taiwanese and Hong Kong people are amazingly passionate about food, but Koreans are also a good bet. It goes without saying that Korean food is the best in the world when eaten in its home country, but where in Tokyo can you get a glimpse of it?……. That is the new branch of Chongiwa in Akasaka.

At the great store, Akasaka “Chongiwa Shinkan”
Eating Tokyo's best chijimi, jjigae, and bibim cold noodles

Although it is called a new building, there is also a main building. The main building is small and the menu is almost the same, but a little higher grade.

I have been going to the new building for decades. He once took an actress there, and she seemed to like him so much that she went back many times herself after that. There are many Korean restaurants in Tokyo, but I think this is one of the best. Well, let's just say that it's a great restaurant, where almost anything you eat is exceptionally delicious.

Some of the items that were so delicious that my eyes widened were ``pickled kimchi'', ``chile panchijimi'', ``grilled swordfish'', ``seafood pure tofu jjigae'', ``cold noodles'', and ``bibim cold noodles''. "Noodles".

``Asazuke kimchi'' is a perfect appetizer instead of salad. The yangnyeom, which is not all about spiciness, is insanely delicious. It's sweet and full-bodied, with hints of fruit. My appetite has improved dramatically, and my stomach is now ready.

Nirachijimi Nirachijimi

"Nira Chijimi" is fried to a crisp. I think it's a dish that uses a lot of oil, but it's not greasy at all. Even when I turned it over, there was no oil dripping. There are many types of pancakes in the world, but the taste is unparalleled. This would be a masterpiece. Of course, ``seafood pancake'' is delicious, but it's simpler and better to have just the taste of chives and dough. My favorite is Niratchijimi.

Grilled swordfish Grilled swordfish

Swordfish itself is an extremely popular fish in South Korea. In Japan, even if you go to the supermarket, the prices are a little high. I deeply regret that there are very few people who order ``grilled hairtail'' at this restaurant. Well, maybe it's because it's a little expensive. I really want you to try it. It seems to have been sprinkled with a moderate amount of salt and grilled in oil, but it will surely make you realize that it reigns supreme as a white-fleshed salt-grilled fish. No, seriously. There are a lot of hard bones though (bitter smile).

Seafood pure tofu jjigae Seafood pure tofu jjigae

``Seafood Pure Tofu Jjigae'' is ``one of the best in Tokyo (lol),'' said a former Miss Korean resident in Japan. This is the so-called sundubu jjigae. Most restaurants use seasonings to fool the crowd, but this one uses clams, seafood, and kelp to create the soup stock. Therefore, the flavor and depth are completely different (the other restaurant called Two Fingers is also extremely delicious, but I won't introduce it here because it's quite expensive).NetflixAs you can see from the documentary, Korea is a ``soup country'' in the first place, so it is extremely important that the soup is delicious.

Bibin cold noodles Bibin cold noodles

Finally, "Bibim Cold Noodles". When I ate here for the first time, I was like, ``Wow! I was speechless because of how delicious it was. The non-spicy cold noodles are also quite delicious. The deep flavor of the beef bone soup and the deliciousness of the noodles are not just ordinary things. But more than that, I was struck by the exquisite mixture of spiciness, sweetness, and bitterness of the bibim cold noodles. The depth of flavor is not comparable to cold noodles. This yangnyeom is one of a kind. Some of my fellow Korean food lovers say, ``This is the best in Tokyo!'' I have absolutely no objection to that.

Now, I have only listed 5 dishes, but they are kimchi, gejang, japchae, tongue salt (yes, but I don't recommend yakiniku such as short ribs and skirt steak. Japanese yakiniku restaurants are better), abalone porridge , Bulgogi and hot pot dishes are also extremely delicious. First of all, let me just say that no matter what you order, you can't compare it to other restaurants.

Last but not least, the service on the floor is amazing, and your requests will be answered with lightning speed. When I dropped my chopsticks while eating in the main building, I was impressed that he brought me a replacement pair within 5 seconds without saying anything. The new building is spacious, so I don't have to pay as much attention to it, but the same spirit still runs through it. I was very impressed when they gave me a paper apron with my bibim cold noodles.

What does "If you don't eat this, your life is ruined" mean?
Bassey, an editor with over 40 years of food-loving experience, is rumored to be a Reiwa-era Brillat-Savarin, or even the return of Furukawa Roppa, who rushes west and east to eat every time he hears there's something delicious to eat. A heart-wrenching gourmet essay.

Author profile

Bassey is a foodie who has been eating around for over 40 years. In addition to Japan, he regularly goes to Hong Kong to eat Chinese food at his own expense, and also travels to Taiwan, Singapore, Bangkok, and Seoul for delicious food. During his time as the editor-in-chief of a travel magazine, he visited many Michelin-rated restaurants around the world, especially in Europe, and later on in the World's Best 50 restaurants. We want everyone who loves food to try ``Crab Miso Bean Paste Noodles'' from ``Tenkorou'' (Hong Kong). Actually, I like the Chinese food at this restaurant the best in the world. Another example of the best Western food is "El Seger de Can Roca" from Girona, Spain, which was ranked number one on the World's Best 50 list. Ah, I want to go there again.
