With the weather gradually getting warmer and the cherry blossoms about to bloom, I attended the unveiling of the "Mother's Day Collection 2026 - My message for you -" event at the Nicolai Bergmann Flowers & Design flagship store.
Nicolai Bergmann's iconic "flower box"
Nicolai Bergmann hails from Copenhagen, Denmark. Based on European style, his unique work combines Scandinavian taste with a Japanese sensibility that pays attention to detail. His iconic flower and design pieces are particularly well-known as Nicolai Bergmann's signature style.
The "Deep Gratitude" flower box, featuring red carnations in honor of Mother's Day, is elegant and refined, but the "Colorful Appreciation" box, with its vibrant red and pink carnations, orange roses, and touches of green, evokes a joyful and caring atmosphere reminiscent of Tivoli Gardens in Denmark, Nicolai's hometown.
This time, I actually got to experience making a flower box. Apparently, they also hold these kinds of arrangement classes on the second floor of the flagship store. I was taught by watching the instructor's example, but when I tried it myself, I realized it was quite difficult. For example, the arrangement is designed so that carnations are placed first, and then darker colored flowers and roses are added later to create accents, and buds and greenery are added to fill in the gaps to create more contrast. It may seem like they are simply putting flowers in a box, but I realized that the color scheme and the characteristics of the flowers are actually thought out down to the smallest detail.
The new collection also features store-exclusive fresh flower arrangements.
Furthermore, the new collection also features store-exclusive fresh flower arrangements, making it even more vibrant and beautiful, like an amusement park. Nicolai Bergmann's essence of creativity was fully on display.
From the top left of the photo, clockwise, we have three fresh flower boxes: Message in a box – Colorful Appreciation, Message in a box – Tender Love, and Message in a box – Deep Gratitude. Each is available in S (11 x 11 x H9cm) for 5,830 yen, M (15 x 15 x H9cm) for 9,350 yen, and L (23 x 23 x H9cm) for 17,600 yen.

My message for you Gift Set – Floral Elegance with Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse Overall: 24.4 x 12.5 x H9.5cm (Flower box: 11 x 11 x H9cm) ¥12,100
Available from Friday, March 27th.
Also available this time as a special gift set is the "My message for you Gift Set - (Floral elegance with Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse)," which combines Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse's original chocolate "Rose Mandiant Noir" with a flower box. I had the opportunity to sample the chocolate, and it was adorned with orange confit, dried figs, and apricots, creating a truly gorgeous combination with the chocolate.
This year's Mother's Day collection features a "thank you" message, with the nuances of that message expressed through the colors of flowers. I think it would be perfect as a lovely Mother's Day gift that conveys your feelings.
This event allowed us to experience the sense of accomplishment that comes from creating our own unique boxes surrounded by colorful flowers. We had a fun time being careful not to let anything overflow from the height of the box and coming up with our own creative color schemes.
