This time, we will introduce restaurants where you can enjoy seasonal Kyoto ingredients.
Enjoy "Buri Shabu" made with Ine Yellowtail from November to March
Restaurant Aburaya (Ine Town)
Yellowtail shabu-shabu made with Ine yellowtail
Ine is known for its spectacular scenery, which has led to it being called the Venice of Japan. The sight of the boat houses lined up around Ine Bay is a sight that cannot be seen anywhere else.
Aburaya is a restaurant where you can enjoy your meal while gazing at the boathouses from the counter. They use only ingredients from Kyoto, including fresh fish caught in Ine Bay.
The chef in charge is the former head chef of Aburaya, a long-established inn in Ine. He is known for his keen eye for fresh fish, which he purchases every morning.
The recommended dish is the buri shabu-shabu, made with the brand fish, Ine buri. You can enjoy a luxurious winter taste at an affordable price.
The season is from November to March. The "Aoshima set meal," which includes boiled, grilled, and sashimi fresh fish, and seafood bowls are also popular.

Savor the taste of juicy oysters, from rock oysters in summer to Pacific oysters in November.
Totogen Higashi-Maizuru store (Manazuru city)
Oysters full of flavour
This Japanese restaurant is run by Marufuji Foods, a fresh fish retailer, in Maizuru, a highly competitive fish market area. Facing Maizuru Port, it has a wonderful location with large windows overlooking the calm sea and the ferries and warships passing by.
The owner, who is also a fish broker, personally selects and serves seafood delivered directly from Maizuru Port.
Oysters are recommended. In summer, rock oysters are the season, and in November, the season for Pacific oysters arrives. Pacific oysters can be cooked in a variety of ways, including oyster hotpot, oyster with ponzu sauce, fried, salt-grilled, and steamed.
The rich flavor and plump texture are truly exquisite. In addition to oysters, seafood can be enjoyed in a variety of forms, including sushi, sashimi, simmered dishes, fried dishes, and grilled dishes. There are also over 40 types of sake on offer, including many rare brands. This is a restaurant where you can feel the season with seasonal seafood every time you visit.

Taiza Crab, the highest quality brand of snow crab, is only available from November to March
Nagomi-an Sky and Sea (Tango City)
"Taza Crab" marked by a green tag
This inn is like a hideaway in the Taiza Onsen hot spring area, where you can enjoy the spectacular views of the Tango Peninsula. They serve lunch not only to guests staying overnight, but also to the general public, making them a welcome addition for day-trippers traveling around the Tango Peninsula.
The crab dishes, which have been passed down for 30 years, are highly recommended. The top-quality brand of snow crab, "Mazagani," is especially popular.
The fishing grounds for "Taiza Crab" are located 20 to 50 km offshore from Cape Kyogamisaki, the northernmost tip of Kyoto Prefecture, and day trips are possible, so the crabs are extremely fresh. The conditions for water temperature and the creatures that the crabs feed on are also optimal, so the crabs also taste excellent.
However, because there are restrictions on the amount of crab that can be caught and the Sea of Japan is often rough in winter, it is also known as a "phantom crab." If you are visiting Tango during the season from November to around March 11, you should definitely try it.
I want to enjoy the "Taiza Crab" to my heart's content, which can only be enjoyed at this time of year.
