Each luxury hotel in the world has its own story.
Among all brands, few have a history and philosophy that has been passed down to this day without fading as much as St. Regis. Founded in 1904 on Fifth Avenue in New York City by John Jacob Astor IV, head of the prestigious Astor family, St. Regis was born with the concept of "an experience as if you were invited to the finest mansion."
For over 120 years, St. Regis has continued to welcome royalty, cultural figures, and business leaders from around the world. As Marriott International's top luxury brand, it has hotels all over the globe, but the only one bearing its name in Japan is the "St. Regis Hotel Osaka," located on Midosuji in Osaka.
And in 2025, the hotel celebrated its 15th anniversary and underwent further evolution. With a renovated reception floor and restaurants, it continues to evolve, building upon its traditions while moving towards a more refined luxury experience.
Midosuji is known as Osaka's premier main street. Stepping through the entrance facing this tree-lined avenue, the hustle and bustle of the city quietly recedes, and even the quality of the air seems to change.
This is not just a luxury hotel; it's a place where an aesthetic philosophy for enriching the very act of spending time breathes life into the experience.

A space of tranquility and splendor that reflects "Osaka culture"
The appeal of the St. Regis Hotel Osaka lies first and foremost in its architecture and interior design.
The inspiration for the hotel's interior design came from the "Osaka culture" that flourished during the time of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The hotel expresses an aesthetic sense where the splendor brought about by the prosperity of Osaka as a commercial city intersects with the uniquely Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi.
In the entrance hall on the first floor, the imposing presence of Western architecture with its stonework quietly resonates with the latticework design reminiscent of Japanese architecture. Passing through this tranquil space reminiscent of moonlight, one ascends to the lobby on the 12th floor, where a completely different, open world filled with sunlight unfolds.
The reception floor, renovated to coincide with the hotel's 15th anniversary in 2025, has been transformed into a more sophisticated space with chandeliers adorning the coffered ceiling and new furniture. The design is impressive, inheriting the hotel's original concept of "coexistence of luxury and wabi-sabi" while adding a touch of modern elegance.
Beyond the large windows lies the Sky Garden, situated approximately 50 meters above ground level. Gazing at the garden, where the breeze blows through, one almost forgets that this is the heart of Osaka. The contrasts of "stillness" and "movement," "Japanese" and "Western," and "tradition" and "innovation" within this beautiful space create a unique and special atmosphere.

160 guest rooms and suites, offering a relaxing, residence-like atmosphere.
The St. Regis Hotel Osaka has a total of 160 guest rooms.
It boasts some of the largest rooms among luxury hotels in Osaka, and every guest room exudes a tranquil, villa-like atmosphere.
The walls exude the warmth of cedar wood, the design incorporates Kyoto-produced silk, and the artwork evokes ink painting. While incorporating Japanese elements throughout, the overall space remains modern and sophisticated.
The headboard of the bed is adorned with silk fabric from Kawashima Textile featuring cherry blossom and ginkgo leaf motifs, evoking a delicate aesthetic unique to Japan.
The view of Midosuji Avenue from the window is another unique charm of this hotel. The tree-lined street and the city skyline, which change their appearance with each season, add a rich and memorable touch to your stay.

Butler service symbolizes ultimate hospitality.
An indispensable element when discussing The St. Regis is its butler service, which has become synonymous with the brand.
The personalized service introduced by St. Regis in the early 20th century is still offered in all guest rooms today. Simply press the butler button on your room's telephone, and your various needs will be met.
Their services are wide-ranging, from unpacking and packing to pressing clothes, making restaurant reservations, and arranging sightseeing tours. Of course, they also accommodate requests made before arrival.
Understanding each guest's preferences and behaviors, and anticipating their needs before they even put them into words—this exquisite balance of naturally being there for them when needed is the true essence of the hospitality that St. Regis has upheld for over 120 years.
A gourmet destination to discover in Osaka
The St. Regis Hotel Osaka is also a hotel worth visiting for its fine dining.
To commemorate its 15th anniversary, the hotel's restaurants are undergoing a phased renovation, evolving to a new stage that further enhances the dining experience.
In 2025, the French restaurant on the first floor underwent a complete renovation, giving rise to a new brasserie called "RÉGINE." The restaurant is overseen by Ryuta Iizuka, owner-chef of the two-Michelin-starred restaurant "Ryuzu" in Roppongi, Tokyo. It offers simple yet refined French cuisine that utilizes seasonal ingredients from the Kansai region and brings out the inherent charm of the ingredients.

The Italian restaurant "La Veduta" on the 12th floor has also been given a new look, welcoming guests with seasonal dishes created by Chef Michiaki Yoshida.

Furthermore, each of the various establishments, such as the teppanyaki restaurant "Wajo," the St. Regis Bar, and The St. Regis Afternoon Tea, are refining their individual characteristics, thereby enhancing the hotel's value as a gourmet destination as a whole.

A "ritual" unique to The St. Regis
Luxury is not simply about extravagance.
Unique experiences and stories found only in that place create lasting value that remains in people's memories.
The St. Regis Hotel Osaka is home to numerous rituals that symbolize the brand. One of them is the champagne sabrage that takes place every evening.
The elegant ceremony of opening a champagne bottle with a sword has captivated many guests as a celebration of the start of the evening.
Furthermore, the signature cocktail "Shogun Mary" available at the St. Regis Bar, and the afternoon tea that carries on the social culture of the founding Astor family, are also unique experiences offered at this hotel.
Further enhancing your stay is "Iridium Featuring Sothys," located on the 14th floor. This luxury spa offers treatments by Sothys, a prestigious French skincare brand.
A tranquil space filled with natural light, the gentle murmur of water, and a soothing aroma. Located in the heart of the city, it offers a sense of peace and tranquility, as if you were at a resort.
There are countless luxury hotels around the world. However, true luxury cannot be defined solely by lavish facilities or extravagant presentations.
A fusion of inherited history and philosophy, warm hospitality provided by human hands, and the local culture.
The St. Regis Hotel Osaka creates a richer stay experience by continuing to evolve while preserving tradition. The essence of luxury that St. Regis has refined for over 120 years is not just about exclusivity, but about experiencing true peace and tranquility.
