Strawberries, matcha, sake: Japanese flavors meet chocolate ganache in the "NAMA CHOCO×JAPAN" series
If you're looking for a treat to reward yourself for another successfully completed holiday season, the new "NAMA CHOCO × JAPAN" series is for you! Each product in the series combines smooth chocolate ganache with one of Japan's most beloved flavors.
There are four flavors in all. The first, Kuheiji ganache, contains the Kamoshibito Kuheiji junmai daiginjo sake "Betsuatsurae." The result is a refined adult flavor tempered with the melting sweetness of white chocolate.
The Ikkomon ganache contains the shochu Ikkomon Red, made with 100% sweet potatoes by Komaki Brewing. This smooth, sweet taste is paired with milk chocolate for an irresistible result.
Third on the list is the Uji Matcha ganache, using powdered green tea from the venerable Kyoto tea shop Tsujirihei Honten. The rich fragrance of the green tea brings out new notes of sweetness and flavor in the chocolate.
Finally, there's the Shizuoka Benihoppe ganache, made with Kuri Berry Farm's original "Shiawase no ringu, hikaru ichigo"-brand strawberries. The brand name translates to "Ring of happiness, shining strawberries," while "Benihoppe" (literally "crimson-cheek") is a strawberry cultivar from Shizuoka prefecture. This variety is due for release later this month!
