Enjoy the Dynamic Sound and Spectacle of the Atami Sea Fireworks Festival from the Risonare Atami by Hoshino Resorts
It just isn’t a Japanese summer without fireworks, and the Atami Sea Fireworks Festival is one of the most spectacular pyrotechnics displays on offer. The Risonare Atami by Hoshino Resorts boasts stunning views not only from every guest room but also from the spacious outdoor hot spring bath called Myojo no Yu and the rooftop restaurant Sorano Beach Books & Cafe—so, when the fireworks begin, you can enjoy them from wherever you are. This breathtaking view of dazzling colors bursting over Atami’s night cityscape can only be seen from the Risonare Atami.
The Atami Sea Fireworks Festival itself has a history that stretches back to 1952, making 2018 its 67th anniversary. One of Atami’s best-known events, it is held over ten times each year so that it can be enjoyed even outside the summer season. Because Atami Bay is shaped like a basin, it has the acoustics of a concert hall, which adds an extra dynamism to the sound and force of the fireworks. The grand finale, “Niagara Falls in the Sky,” is particularly amazing.
Just for the summer, the Risonare Atami has prepared exclusive seating at Sorano Beach Books & Cafe for one party per night to enjoy the fireworks from the rooftop in style. Overnight visitors can also sign up to enjoy the fireworks from the spacious hot spring bath, Myojo no Yu.
The resort’s Japanese restaurant is named Hanabi, which literally means “fireworks,” and has been renovated with the fireworks festival as a motif. Atami is the gateway to the Izu Peninsula, and Hanabi prides itself on its exquisite local seafood, which includes everything from the finest red snapper in Japan to the most abundant horned turban in Shizuoka Prefecture. The bounty of the sea is combined with other seasonal delicacies to create an unforgettable dining experience.
Only a few weeks of summer are left! Why not splurge on a luxurious trip to se the fireworks and create a memory that will last a lifetime?
